I found that Chapter 7 of the BBG was full of useful information to help me with aspects of project 2. Since Project 2 is a research paper sources play a big role in how well the paper in composed. However, it is important to cite those sources. Chapter 7 informed me on how I should cite those sources and how I should integrate them into my writing. One thing that stuck out to me is to always cite a source even when in doubt. I know that sometimes I may look at something and then just respond with what I learned from that source. After doing this I am never sure whether I need to cite the source or not. After reading chapter 7, I was assured that it is probably best to go ahead and site it. When citing these sources in includes in text citations, which should be included in even summaries or while paraphrasing. It also includes citing the source within the bibliography of the paper. Chapter seven also gave me tips and hints on how to integrate sources into my writing. For example, it stated that quotes should really only be used when paraphrasing or summarizing the quote would take away from the meaning. The chapter also stated that use summaries and paraphrasing as “sparingly” as possible. I am glad I read this chapter at this time because I believe it was beneficial for including sources into Project 2.
