Over the past couple of years I have found myself watching less and less television. Flipping through the channels I could never find anything that seem, even in the slightest interesting. I usually only watch television now to watch sports. I have found that YouTube has taking over the place of television for me. It began by watching “fail” videos as a child, but as I grew older and determined some interest of mine I began to watch things that I could truly follow. For me, this happened to be with fitness. However, I believe almost anyone could find something they’re interested in on YouTube. Anyways, within this fitness genre I have found a few individuals that I have “subscribed” to. I subscribed to them because they are entertaining, motivating, and offer a lot of information. The individuals I watch such as, Steve Cook or Christian Guzman, are sponsored by fitness companies, but Guzman even owns his own clothing company. Since these individuals are successful at what they do and I regularly watch their videos when I see them wearing a piece of clothing or using a certain product I am sometimes encouraged to try it myself because they may review the product or they seem to enjoy it. So, when I am looking to buy clothing or items for fitness I usually buy the product that seems familiar to me through these videos. Therefore, I think it is beneficial for companies to connect with YouTube stars.
